Sunriver Books & Music is now open 11 to 5. There are some new aspects to the store. The entrance has been separated from the exit, so one door is an entrance, the other an exit. There is a door person at the entrance to greet you. We are requiring masks and hand sanitizer. While I understand that some (including the president) do not believe in masks, we are asking you the favor of following this requirement. Our community includes people we care about in the vulnerable population. Many who live in Sunriver are over 65. Wearing a mask while in the store and using hand sanitizer is such a small thing to help keep our community healthy.
Lets remember the words on our Statue of Liberty, New Colossus, penned by Emma Lazarus in 1883.
Not like the brazen giant of Greek fame,
With conquering limbs astride from land to land;
Here at our sea-washed, sunset gates shall stand
A mighty woman with a torch, whose flame
Is the imprisoned lightning, and her name
MOTHER OF EXILES. From her beacon-hand
Glows world-wide welcome; her mild eyes command
The air-bridged harbor that twin cities frame.
"Keep, ancient lands, your storied pomp!" cries she
With silent lips. "Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.
Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me,
I lift my lamp beside the golden door!
We look forward to seeing you at Sunriver Books & Music!
