Meg Tilly
Meg Tilly is best known for outstanding performances in the films The Big Chill and Agnes of God. Meg is also an accomplished author. She writes with sensitivity and grace. Porcupine is a very timely book for young people; it deals with the pain and loss suffered when a family is torn asunder by the death of the father in Afghanistan. Sadly this is a situation that many young people either face themselves or know someone who has faced such a loss. In Meg's remarkable book the children must move through their grief and on to a new life. As their lives change they not only learn to take on responsibility they learn to trust again. She writes with compassion, humor, and strength.
