Sam’s nights are haunted by a vivid dream of lush meadows, deep ponds, and the trumpeting of elephants.  He knows he is sharing this dream with Hannah.  Sam has been Hannah’s keeper for over 40 years, starting under the tutelage of Max Biedelman, when she kept a private zoo on her scrumptious estate.  The glory days have passed, no longer is Hannah living in part of a private estate with exquisite landscaping.  Max left the property to the city to be a zoo, vendor carts and concrete have obliterated the earlier opulence.  The zoo has fallen on hard times; Harriet was hired to turn things around.  She is determined to make a success of the zoo, but has no understanding of the needs of an elephant, only certain knowledge of its star power. Standing on concrete, huddling in the barn on all the moist rainy days of a Northwestern winter, and living alone is not the right life for the majesty of an elephant. Sam share’s Hannah’s dream yet all he can offer her is a sack of Dunkin Donuts.  Sam has spent most of his life caring for Hannah, he is worried, will she have a future when he retires?  A man and an elephant share a dream, can it become reality?
