2008 Fiction and Classics Book Club Favorites
Our Book Clubs voted of their favorites of 2008 selections.
Fiction chose the following:
1st Place is Sacred Games by Vikram Chandra.
2nd Place went to Ines of My Soul by Isabel Allende.
3rd Place goes to The Enchantress of Florence by Salmon Rushdie.
4th Place goes to The March by E.L. Doctorow. Sherman set a blistering pace marching across the south. He needed to conquer territory and move troops, he had battles to fight. As Sherman moved on, Johnny Reb would be nipping at his heels. Life could become unfortunate for the liberated blacks and poor whites left in Sherman's wake. Rather than sticking around to find out the mood of Johnny Reb, they attached themselves to the hindquarters of Sherman's army slowing him down. Characters swirl in and out of the story as Sherman keeps on moving.
The Classic Book Club chose the following winners.
1st Place goes to A Passage to India by E.M. Forster. Set during the time of the British Raj, an Indian man is accused of a crime, can he find justice?
